| General Advice |
In order to keep your session costs down, one of our engineers needs to verify the audio sources data prior to the session. This saves time should there be any issues, such as incompatible file formats, and prevents wasted session time on the day. |
| |
| Cut Off Time |
All material to be received by LOUD by 11am three working days before the session. Beyond this cut off time there is a set up charge of £25. If the material is received on the day of the session the respective mastering engineer's hourly rate will be charged for however long the disruption to the days sessions.
There is a discretionary £25 for 1 or 2 tracks. |
| |
| Broadband Upload Speeds |
Please be aware that most Broadband upload speeds are extremely slow. An 8MB Broadband connection may still only have an upload speed of 256KBs. To upload one 24bit track could take up to an hour and a half! Keep this in mind if you plan to upload the data to a server for a session, it could take longer than you expect and miss the Cut Off Time. |
| |
| File Formats |
We can convert most file formats but every now and then one can fox us! Our preferred format is a 24bit AIF with a sample rate of either 44.1k, 48k, 88.2k, 96k, 176.4k or 192k and "Stereo Interleaved". There are OSX OS9 compatibility issues, and 24/32bit Wav issues that we sometimes have to address which is why we ask for the material to be with us three working days prior to the session. |
| |
| Bring An Audio CD |
As a last resort we advise clients to bring an audio CD of their material, just in case there are un resolvable problems with the data files. We also advise clients to bring any reference material they may feel will help with the session, such as similar sounding CD's, previous releases, style comparisons, 12"s, etc. |
| |
| Alternate Mixes |
| Instrumentals, acapellas and "clean" versions of the same song are classed as different tracks and will be priced accordingly. Running these tracks with the same settings and at the same time as the main mix qualifies a 50% discount. |
| |
| CD For Approval |
If you request a CD for approval at the end of the session and then approve the CD, there is no additional charge for the master. Further work (mastering, changing gaps, running order alterations, etc) will result in a new master being run at the engineers time and materials rate. |
| |
| Audio Sources |
| Over compressed, multiband compressed, limited or normalised source material is not recommended for mastering, please avoid placing these effects on your final desk output, or as your final plug-in. |
